 I rated 5 Macintosh programs for HyperCard, all of which I downloaded from
AOL (it's virtually my only source).  Some are games, one is a utility, and
one is a music composition program.
 The five programs I rated are:  DataFork Editor; HyperShip 1.2.1; Music
Machine; Point Shooter! 8-bit; and Strangers in the Shadows 2.3.1.

DataFork Editor 1.0

 DataFork Editor does what its name says it will do, edit the data fork of
most  files.  This is essential for hacking HyperCard demos into the full
version (this is what most HC data fork editors claim to be able to do),
because while editing the data fork you might com across a password that
makes it the full version.
 Most data fork editors I've come across can locate a password inside the
data fork, DFE cannot, a major feature that it lacks.  It does have one
feature I did find great, you can edit and save your changes back to the
stack, a feature usually only top quality data for editors with a major
shareware fee have.
 This stack is promising in a field that has many competitors, but needs more
features and enhancements on already provided features to stand out.

HyperShip 1.2.1

 HyperShip is a game where you have to avoid astroids while trying to stay
inside the screen (if you go outside you los a life).  The more astroids you
avoid, the faster they go.  I had more trouble staying inside the screen then
avoiding the astroids, but, oh well.  HyperShip is fun and addicting but has
a few harmless (though annoying) bugs.

Music Machine

 Music Machine turns your keyboard into a music workshop!  This wonderfully
implemented program lets you save and create songs with the supplied
instruments, or.......create your own!

Point Shooter!  8-bit

 Point Shooter is a highly addictive color game (thus requiring HyperCard
2.3) in which you shoot at targets.  The plot is absolutely nothing, but the
game is fun.

Strangers in the Shadows 2.3.1

Rating:  2 apples

 SITS is an adventure game like MYST.  The graphics and plot is poorly done
but for some reason to me it is strangely addictive.

 These programs are slightly old, as I did the reviewing early on and wrote
the artical a few weeks later.  See you next month!!!!
